Elderly Chinese Man With Flu Unsure Why No One Will Sit Next To Him On The Train

On his way home from the markets, 64 year old Li Wei is sitting in a nearly empty train carriage. Recovering from the flu, he occasionally lets out a loud, chesty cough without covering his mouth.

As the train starts to fill up, he notices that many of his fellow travellers are standing up, despite having 5 spare seats next to him.

Looking around he notices more and more spare seats despite the busy rush hour period. Making eye contact with a young lady he offers her a seat nearby. “Come sit” he gestures with his hands.

Trembling, the girl makes a dash for the next carriage covering her mouth.

Li looks around at other passengers, coughing his lungs out, once again without covering his mouth.
“Racist Australians!” He mutters under his breath.
