Who else use your bed?
After a decade long discussion with her parents patiently reiterating all the reasons she should move out, Cecilia Lee (30) has finally pulled the plug and signed a lease to an inner-city share house – without their blessing.
Cecelia’s Dad and Mum, who never thought this would happen, have been forced to accept the reality that their daughter will no longer sleep an ear shot away from their master bedroom.
But while Cecelia is now capable of moving out roughly 5 years after most other adults do, she isn’t yet capable of sex, according to Mum.
“So you take your brothers single bed ok” says Mum sternly. “He then take your double bed”
Wait a minute. By signing that lease, had Cecelia not told her parents that she is a freely thinking, independent, consenting adult?
“Urh, why can’t I take my double bed?”
Mum, who doesn’t have a logical answer ready to go, responds immediately:
“It’s bad luck. You need new bed when you move out. Don’t be crazy”
“But I like the double bed”
“Why do you need a double bed? Who else use your bed?”
Despite having a boyfriend in the past, Mum simply can’t grasp many adults like Cecelia share intimacy with other adults, before kids, marriage and a house.
Cecilia looks over to Dad, who shrugs and offers a standard guilt trip along the lines of “If you love us you will take the single bed”.
The YAP Native originally spoke to Cecelia’s younger brother Leslie (23) to make this story. He volunteered to break down the dynamic of the situation:
Reporter: Leslie, why does Mum not want your sister to take the double bed?
Reporter: Ok. Why does your sister want the double bed?
Leslie: I don’t know how else to put it…
But, here’s the thing…
The reason she wants a double bed
It’s cos she WANTS TO FUCK, Mum! That’s why!
Back at the household, Cecelia looks over at Leslie, who offers this:
“Don’t you love the parents sis?”
Note: Leslie will probably move out Next year with only a month worth of resistance. He will take the double bed.
More spice to come.
