While Sunnybank faithful Wei Wei Xhu (48) sent twenty tubs of Enfamil NeuroPro Ready to Feed Baby Formula back home last month, it appears this month will be her biggest yet.
That’s because Wei Wei will be expanding her export efforts to a currently higher-in-demand product: Industry grade face masks.
With the coronavirus reaching a peak level of attention throughout Asia, many westerners are on high alert. Wei Wei however, sees a lucrative business opportunity at play, much like baby powder.
“All my relatives overseas ask my doctor son for face mask. They say they want good protection. Australian made protection”
After receiving various requests from relatives over Wechat, Wei Wei checked in to her local Bunnings and ordered a 200 pack of industry grade face masks.
“They tell me no where can they find face mask over there. They tell me I can make more money than baby powder”
“So I send it all. Express post.”
Like baby powder, Wei Wei is helping restore market equilibrium in Asia. While she takes no credit for the idea, she does take payments from Wechat.
We’ll keep you posted on this story as it unfolds.
