“Don’t forget to claim your two free pairs”
In the heart of Melbourne’s Monash university, there’s a certain buzz going around.
It’s the collective excitement of the final year students in the optometry faculty, for they simply cannot wait to sell enough prescription sunglasses to hit sales targets when they begin work at a local sunglasses retailer.
“5 years of studying makes me want to just want to put on my best blouse, frames and-uh of course my pencil skirt… and just sell some damn designer sunglasses” says once-Med hopeful, Angela Park.
“Like seriously can’t wait”
“It’s either OPSM or Sunglass Hut because let’s face it, I don’t really have much of a choice hahah”
“And im totally energized by the prospect of shitty customers who will treat me like I’m Jenny Nguyen from Glue store”
“But it’s what I signed up for when I fucked up and got a 98 ATAR so let’s get this party started”
Some of the even more proactive students like Box Hill’s own Wendy Lee, have even began practicing for the day they actually step into the role.
“It’s all about the delivery”
“Don’t forget to claim your two free pairs” Wendy adds in front of the library window.
“Except for the Raybans, they’re not meant to be there”
With the line down almost perfect and the attitude right, students like Wendy and Angela look ahead at a bright bright future
“Adulthood” adds Wendy..
“Who woulda thought”
More to come.
